Pedestrian gets off bus, is struck and killed by car
ALPHARETTA, Ga. (AP) — Police in an Atlanta suburb say a pedestrian who had just gotten off a bus was struck and killed by a car.
Alpharetta police say the collision happened shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday, when the pedestrian was struck by a white Lexus.
Police said the pedestrian was as a 36-year-old man. His name wasn't immediately released.
Alpharetta police spokesman George Gordon tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://on-ajc.com/2c7QBmU) that the preliminary investigation shows that he stepped off the MARTA bus, walked down the side of the bus and then entered the roadway at some point.
MARTA stands for Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority.
