People getting sick twice this flu season

ATLANTA - A warning from health officials and further proof as to how bad this particular flu season is.

Medical experts said they are seeing people get sick more than once this year and it could cause the season to extend well into the spring.

The reason is that two separate flu strains are dominant at this time.

The good news is that it is not too late to get a flu shot to help prevent one or both of the strains.

Doctors said anyone who gets the vaccine and still gets sick could see less severe symptoms if vaccinated.
