Police are searching for dozens of victims after investigators said thieves broke into 46 units at a Brookhaven Public Storage.

The heist happened overnight from May 5 to the morning of May 6 at the location off of Peachtree and Kendrick roads, after police said workers found locks of 46 storage spaces cut and items rummaged through inside.

Two rifles were reported stolen: a Winchester 300 rifle and a Benelli Supernova 12 gauge shotgun.

Police have only been able to contact a handful of the victims and said they need the others to reach out to them to report anything stolen.

Across the metro Atlanta, burglary rings have targeted storage spaces for valuable items; no word if the thieves are tied to other crimes. Police said they're reviewing surveillance footage of two possible male suspects.

Police advise users of storage facilities to always maintain a list of items and serial numbers, check a facility for security and surveillance, and keep valuable items like guns in a safe.
