ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A late night shooting in southwest Atlanta has left one man dead and sent four others to the hospital with gunshot wounds.
Atlanta police say the shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. Sunday night at the Hidden Village apartment complex on Landrum Drive. Investigators say about an hour earlier two large groups got into a physical fight near building H. The fight broke up, only to rekindle an hour later. That's when a person pulled a gun and started shooting. Detectives say the gunman fired off several rounds.
Five people, all males between the ages of 17 and 20, ended up getting shot. One of them died at the scene. Paramedics rushed another to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition. The remaining three victims jumped in a car and drove to the RaceTrac on Camp Creek Parkway.
East Point Police discovered the trio and they were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, all suffering from nonlife-threatening injuries. The victims' names have not been released.
Police tell FOX 5 News they still have lots of question, including the gunman's identity and what started the original fight that ended in tragedy.
