Howell Mill Rd closed to investigate shooting

After a man was shot in Midtown on Howell Mill Road Wednesday. Police have blocked off the area for a thorough investigation.

ATLANTA - Atlanta police say one person has been taken into custody Wednesday, about five hours after a shooting in West Midtown.

Police say officers responded around 12:15 p.m. to the 900 block of Howell Mill Road.

Video supplied by a FOX 5 Atlanta viewer show police putting up crime scene tape and an ambulance.

Police say a man was shot and was transported to a nearby hospital. Police say the man is "stable" but did not say what his condition is at this time.

Just after 5 p.m., police say one person was in custody, but their identity has not been released.

Atlanta police have released very little about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
