ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Atlanta police are investigating a deadly hit and run involving an electric scooter.
It happened Saturday on 14th Street near Crescent Avenue in Midtown. Authorities rushed the victim, 34-year-old Amber Ford to the hospital. She died Thursday afternoon.
Police said she was riding the scooter around 10 at night when a car slammed into her. The driver sped away from the scene, police said.
This is the third deadly e-scooter-involved crash this year.
Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms issues an executive order banning any new permits for e-scooters until August 5. That's when she plans to introduce new legislation to address the impact of e-scooters on the city.
