Police call cold case a 'planned execution'

Atlanta police called the murder of a 67-year-old retiree a “planned execution”.

Police said there was no forced entry to Hubert Lytle's home on Oakcrest Drive SW back in June of 2014. Detectives said someone shot the father in the head as he shaved.

His adult daughter is still so upset about the killing; she broke down during a press conference when she attempted to speak about the murder. Her uncle comforted her and commented.

"There is a lot of unknowns. It just questions in our minds that we can't really a just or bring closure to, said Isaac Logan.

Police said the house was not ransacked and expensive items were left untouched.

"It appears he was the intended target. He had personal effects that were still at the scene like his wallet, jewelry, things like that were still there, not disturbed. They wanted him dead," Lt. Charles Hampton said.

Police believe the killer bragged about the murder. They have now asked for the public's help as the case has grown cold. They said Lytle's female roommate was not home at the time and has been cooperative

"Someone knows something. Someone has talked about it and that is what we are here to do right now," Lt. Hampton said.

The family is asking for closure.

"We are not looking for vengeance because vengeance belongs to the Lord. And he will take care of that situation," Logan said.

There is a $2,000 reward in the case.
