DeKalb County police say they were called to a home in the 500 block of Old Friar Tuck Lane around 4:30 p.m. after someone called saying a person was shot. When they got to the home, they found an 18-year-old shooting victim Nicholas Glasco. Police say Glasco was in critical condition and only slightly conscious.

Glasco was transported to a local hospital where he died.

After an investigation, officials said that evidence and witness statements led to the arrest of another 18-year-old, Dean Dunkley. Dunkley was charged with murder and is currently being held at the DeKalb County Jail.

Glasco's family says that he and Dunkley have been best friends for years and were both looking forward to graduation. They say that he was at Dunkley's home when something went terribly wrong between the two.

"From what was said, it happened inside but was dragged outside," Glasco's cousin Carmel Tye said. "It's how you do an animal, not a human. No reason for that."

At a gathering on Sunday night, family and friends remembered the 18-year-old victim.

"It was shocking to all of us when we got the call." Glasco's cousin Bryana Tye said. "Never thought someone like this – he was just a good guy period."

Glasco's family says they will never be the same without Nicholas. And for that they want justice.

"I pray justice Dean gets life without parole," Bryana said. "Just give his family closure to why and what really happened."

The family says Glasco was really looking forward to his birthday.

He would have turned 19 next week.
