Who killed Keshia Smith and why? East Point Police reported someone turned themselves in, claiming to have committed the murder at this East Point apartment building on the 2300 block of Newnan street at around 10 p.m. Sunday night.

"Police, caution tape right in front of my house just blocked us in," said resident Kevin Graham.

Graham didn't know Smith but saw the 29-year-old victim sitting in her car in the parking lot a few times.

" We come outside and just like a car and police all outside and her car is parked here and it’s like she is just gone," said Graham.

Others who live at the complex but didn’t want to go on camera told FOX 5 News Smith knew someone who lives in one of the units and was a frequent visitor.

Smith's two young children, a 3-year-old and 10-month old were with their mother, asleep in the vehicle when she was shot. The children weren't harmed. Responding officers found the woman in her vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The whole thing unsettling for residents in this quiet complex.

"I don't know too much about the situation but it's just crazy just to come outside and someone you just saw not too long ago is just gone, crazy situation," Graham said.
