MANAYUNK (WTXF) - Police are investigating after a father and his young daughter were found dead in their Manayunk home Monday morning from an apparent murder-suicide.
Around 11 a.m., police responded to the 4500 block of Wilde Street, where they say a 45-year-old man killed his 7-year-old daughter before taking his own life.
Police say the daughter's stepfather found her unresponsive in the living room with a bag over her head. The father was found unresponsive inside a second floor bedroom.
According to police, the father had been in the midst of a long-standing custody battle with the girl's mother.
The father and daughter have yet to be identified.
This is an ongoing investigation.
