Gwinnett County detectives have found and arrested a man who disappeared after being released from the area's detention center nearly a month ago.

Officials say 42-year-old Andrew Wesley Dix Jr. was released from the Gwinnett County Detention Center on May 17. After leaving the jail, he never contacted his family and hasn't been seen since.

Dix also now has a warrant as he failed to register as a sex offender after he was released from prison, officials say.

According to his family, Dix has some mental health conditions that can possibly lead him to act erratically.

Police say they arrested Dix at a McDonald's in Gwinnett County Tuesday night.
