ATLANTA - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating a shooting involving five Atlanta police officers at an apartment complex in southwest Atlanta early Monday morning.
Atlanta police said they were called to the Bent Creek apartments on Bent Creek Way around 4:30 a.m. after a woman called 911 saying she was being held against her will.

"When the police arrived they found the suspect actively shooting at the female as she was trying to drive away," said Deputy Chief Jeff Glazier, Atlanta Police Department.
“The first gunshots I heard was like eight, then I heard a car speeding off, then they kept coming back to back, rounds after rounds,” a man who did not wish to be identified said.
One man said he heard the gunshots and officers yelling “hands up.” He said he grabbed his child, scared the bullets may come through their home.
Police said a man, believed to be her boyfriend, was shooting at her with a rifle.
“I heard pow, pow, pow, pow, pow, pow, pow, pow,” said one woman who lived nearby.
“The officers took on the suspect, turned into a running gun battle throughout the apartment complex. The suspect shot multiple times at the officers with the rifle. We had five different Atlanta police officers return fire striking the suspect twice,” said Deputy Chief Glazier.
Police described it as a "run and gun" battle that lasted for about 15 minutes.
"Sounded like a war zone; a lot of shots, man,” said another man who lived nearby.
“Right in front of my window I see the police officers walking to the woods with the guns out I seen the gunfire. I heard them say get down get down. I never seen the suspect, but I saw the police officer shooting,” said one of the residents.
“The suspect was firing multiple times at the officers. They could see the muzzle flash. Obviously everyone heard the gunshots, and so the officers did what they were trained to do, which is return fire and protect themselves,” said the deputy chief.
The suspect was shot twice by Atlanta police. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
The woman who called 911 was also taken to the hospital in stable condition. Investigators said she was shot by the suspect.
The Atlanta Police Department said a total of five of their officers opened fire during the shooting.
Authorities remain on scene, focusing their efforts near a building toward the entrance of the complex. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is handling the officer-involved shooting, and Atlanta police are investigating the woman being shot by the suspect.
