DeKalb County Police have charged a 15-year-old with Thursday’s shooting death of a high school classmate after an earlier school dispute.

Police identified the victim Friday as 18-year old Philadarious Parrish, a student at Stephenson High School.

In a news release, police said Parrish and two other Stephenson students went to the home of the suspect when an altercation broke out and the 15-year-old shot Parrish.

Police believe two friends drove the victim to Lakewater View where officers found him outside.

Medics rushed the 18-year-old to a local hospital where he died.

After locating the suspect and interviewing witnesses, DeKalb Police arrested the unidentified 15-year-old and charged him with murder.

Police told FOX 5’s Portia Bruner all of the people involved in the case are students at Stephenson High.

The school brought in extra counselors on Friday for students to talk to.

The Police Department urges anyone with information about the case to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
