Atlanta Police identified the woman Tuesday who was shot to death when she was caught in the crossfire of a shootout. Police said 59-year old Gloria Star-Armor of Ellenwood was sitting in her car when she was shot and killed Monday evening.

The shooting happened outside of the Summerdale Commons apartments at 2745 Old Hapeville Road SW, according to Atlanta Police. Investigators said people inside of 2 vehicles were involved in a shootout at the entrance to the apartment complex.

Police said the female victim who was sitting in a third vehicle was an innocent bystander.

Zone 3 officers recovered both suspect vehicles and detained one person. Officers also located another vehicle in the area that may have been possibly involved in the shootout. Police said witnesses gave investigators a description of the occupants.

Family members remember the victim fondly.

“I wake up with her and I go to sleep with her at night. That's my momma and I miss her so much. I woke up this morning and she wasn't there and it hurt,” Quesha Armour

Armour said her mother loved life and cherished her grandchildren. Her niece said she will definitely be missed.

“My aunt was a very lively and vibrant person. She loved life , enjoyed life and she was the cook of the family,” Gabrielle Starr lamented.

The family has set up a go fund me account to help with burial expenses. Anyone wishing to donate can go to gofundme.com/2gfdetsc.

The shooting death comes after another woman, 25-year-old Taylor Harden, was shot to death early Saturday morning when she was caught in the crossfire of another shootout outside of a Buckhead club.

On Monday, the Buckhead Coalition announced a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killers of Harden, who is the sister of a Minnesota state senator.

Anyone with information on either crime is asked to call Atlanta Crime Stoppers.
