Police say Tyree Freeman, 24, was grazed by a bullet. They said he was then charged with simple battery and taken to the Fulton County Jail.
Atlanta police say that Freeman was an employee at the doughnut shop and was the "primary aggressor" in the incident. Investigators are considering the shooting a "self-defense incident."
What they're saying:
"It seems to be an escalating dispute that started an argument and escalated to this point where a weapon was used," said Atlanta Capt. Germain Dearlove. "Gun violence is important to deter and to identify the persons involved, so if there is an incident where the gun was used and there's an aggressor, we're going to make the proper charges for them."
"There's just a lot of stuff going on around here. It's getting worse and worse," said nearby resident Nick Patel. "I never thought during the daytime. You just never know, I guess."
