Police: Man found dead inside car in grocery store parking lot

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Police are investigating a deadly shooting in DeKalb County. 

According to police, a man was found dead inside a car early Wednesday morning in the parking lot of the Salem Crossing Shopping Complex along Salem Road at Panola Road. The victim was later identified as 24-year-old Jai Hayes. DeKalb police said Hayes' body was found in his SUV around 4:30 a.m.

The Medical Examiner’s office determined Hayes died from a gunshot wound.

No suspects have been identified, and the shooting is being investigating as homicide, authorities confirmed.
