Police: Man killed after knocking on wrong apartment door
ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A teenager has been killed after a shooting that police think happened because he may have gone to the wrong apartment.
Around 12:30 Friday morning, a 19-year-old man started knocking on the door of a unit at the Retreat at Marketplace complex on Fairburn Road in southwest Atlanta. When he walked away from the door, police say the resident confronted the victim from his balcony.
After an argument, police say the man living in the apartment fired a single shot, striking the 19-year-old. He ended up dying at the scene.

The shooter, identified as 32-year-old Darryl Bynes, told detectives that he shot the man because he thought he was trying to breaking into his apartment. Police have arrested him and charged him with murder.
Police think the 19-year-old might've been trying to go to his girlfriend's and got confused about where she lived. The girlfriend's apartment is near the shooter's. In fact, she was the one who called 911 after the deadly shot was fired.
Detectives say the 19 year old had recently moved in or started staying with the girlfriend.
The name of the victim has not been released.
