Police: Man pulls knife on officers at Atlanta's airport

Police said they were forced to take down a man inside the atrium of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Monday evening.

Atlanta Police said it started with the man smoking a cigarette near the arrival escalators. Officers asked the man to put it out. But instead, the man flicked the cigarette onto the ground and pulled a knife, according to police.

Officers told the man to drop the knife and police said at some point, the man moved towards officers. That’s when police said an officer used a Taser on the man.

The man, whose name has not been released, was not injured. He was taken into custody, but his charges were not immediately known.

The incident happened outside the of the TSA checkpoints.
