Police officer issues himself a ticket
HAINES CITY, FL - We are often challenged to be honest in life. Sometimes dishonesty can come with great peril, but other times nobody would know the difference. Except yourself.
That was the dilemma for Officer Tim Glover, who has spent several years in charge of the red-light camera program for the Haines City, Florida Police Department.
While reviewing footage from cameras inside the city limits, Officer Glover saw that he ran a red light himself.
“It’s red...and there I go,” laughed Glover.
The officer told his supervisor about the ticket and paid the $158 fine.
“I could have easily hit the reject button and probably nobody would have known but me and God, but I’m not that type of person,” he said.
Usually when we get pulled over for a traffic violation we have an excuse. Tim Glover could have easily let this one go.
We all make excuses in life, especially when we are caught. Fortunately we have good people like Officer Glover not only upholding the law, but our values too.
