"We believe the gentleman did go to a location to make a 911 call from a pay phone, however it was unsuccessful," said Captain Joey Smith with Henry County Police. "The location where he did make the call is about a mile away."
Police said they were able to track down the teenage mother and she is receiving medical attention. They believe she gave birth in a private home. Detectives said the baby boy is in good condition.
Under the Safe Haven Law, a newborn child may be left in the physical custody of an on duty employee, agent, or staff member of a medical facility.

"We know they made a 911 call informing us of the location," said Captain Smith. "That is just going to be a decision up to the prosecutors to make, however it may fall under that statue."
Investigators said the Department of Family and Children is involved and said charges may be filed.
