CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - The case has become such a priority for Clayton County law enforcement, that the Sheriff's Office now has a 22-year-old listed as one of their top 10 most wanted fugitives.
Sunday, officials announced Dantae Lamar Jones, 22, is wanted for the murder of Jalen Camron, 17
At around 6:20 p.m. Saturday, Clayton County Police responded to a report of a suspicious person the area of Gristmill Court and Apache Lane in Riverdale.
Neighbors said a young boy was inside his home on Gristmill Court when he called 9-1-1 to report someone had banged on the back door and screamed for help.
"I don't even know if I would've opened my door," said Leah King, who lives next door. "They probably looked out and didn't know him. So, you're not supposed to open your door."
When police arrived at the scene, they found Camron lying face down. By the time emergency services got to the home, he was dead.
"Young people nowadays just don't have any regard for life," King lamented.
Authorities said Jones is 5-foot-8-inches tall and weighs around 148 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
