Police: Suspect arrested for Athens woman's murder

ATHENS, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Police have arrested a man they say murdered a 36-year-old woman in Athens.

On Saturday morning, police were called to a home on Moreland Avenue after a witness reported a dead body.

The witness told police he had come home from work and discovered the female victim, identified as 36-year-old Latisha Gresham, in the hallway.

Police say Gresham was found dead with a gunshout wound.

After an investigation, police charged 40-year-old Marion Adkins with Gresham's murder. 

Adkins has been transported to the Clarke County Jail.
