The owner of Ringcrush said the thief stole around 2,600 trendy rings; if each was valued at $30 to $60 each, the theft of thousands of items resulted in the huge loss.
"It hurt us pretty badly," founder and owner Bailey Lehrer tells FOX 5 News. "It's really sad because we are a small business," she said, shocked about the heist over the holy Easter weekend.
Investigators believe the thief hopes to sell the items at pawn shops, and hope people can recognize the man or the products that were stolen.
Police said the ordeal happened on Good Friday around 9 p.m. at the Ringcrush warehouse in the Peachtree Road and Chamblee Tucker Road area.
Surveillance shows the man throwing a rock at a window. Police said once he entered the building, he helped himself to the inventory, and hauling off with two duffel bags worth of items.
"It's really sad – all of that hard work. Probably, he's going to take it to a pawn shop, and they're going to turn it away, and he's going to put it in the trash can," Lehrer said, knowing the items with semi-precious stones at affordable price points won't fetch any cash. Her team hand-crafts the jewelry before selling the items on Etsy or in boutiques worldwide.
Anyone with information on the theft can call Chamblee Police. Tipsters can also contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS; you can get a reward up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest.
