It happened around 2 a.m. at the Crossland Economy Suites on Jimmy Carter Boulevard, not far from Buford Highway.
According to police, a man and woman were at the hotel when a man came to their door with a gun. Police said he stole personal items from the man, took his car keys, snatched the woman, then fled in the male victim's vehicle.
The male victim then ran to a nearby Waffle House and called the police. Gwinnett County officers put a lookout for the car, which was later spotted and recovered in Chamblee. However, the kidnap victim and suspect were gone.
Detectives plan on combing the car for clues, including fingerprints, hoping to identify the gunman.

The missing woman might answer to the name "Kristen". She is described as a black female, tall with a medium to heavy build. She's in her mid to late 20's, she has a heart tattoo on her left wrist and thick dreadlocks. She was last seen wearing dark jeans, a bright green dress that was tucked into her jeans and a light jean jacket.
The gunman is described as a black male, about 5'08" with a medium build. He has 2-inch twists in his hair, long scruffy facial hair and a gold tooth.
Police said it's possible the woman knows the gunman, but they do believe this is a legitimate abduction and don't think she was in on the crime.
Investigators also said the male and female victim knew each other for about a week.
