Police: Woman uses children to help shoplift
ATHENS, Ga. (FOX 5 News) - A Walton County woman used four children to shoplift from an area department story, police said.
According to Athens-Clarke County Police, 34-year-old Feleshia Chamain Smith made three separate trips to Target and pointed out items to her children. Smith would leave Target and wait while her two children, aged 11 and 12, and two other juveniles would steal the items and return to her car, police said.
Police said the children had been stopped twice but on January 18 the juveniles left the store with almost $1,200 worth of stolen merchandise.
Athens-Clarke Police obtained warrants on Tuesday charging Smith with three counts of felony theft by shoplifting and four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
