Psychiatrist: Hemy Neuman was 'malingering mental illness'
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - DeKalb County prosecutors took direct aim at the Hemy Neuman trial Wednesday. They were trying to undermine Neuman’s claim that he was insane when he killed Rusty Sneiderman outside after daycare center.
Forensic Psychiatrist Dr. Joseph Browning flatly rejected a defense expert's diagnosis that he was mentally ill at the time of the shooting in 2010.
“I don't believe that he was experiencing any symptoms on the day of the shooting.” Dr. Browning continued after questioning on Sneiderman’s state of mind, “My diagnosis of the defendant was that he was malingering mental illness.”
Prosecutors claim he was having an affair with Sneiderman's wife. The defense contends that the affair was one of Hemy Neuman's delusions.
