Publix Serves Day

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Tuesday was Publix Serves Day. More than 7,500 Publix associates were out volunteering in seven states.

Here in Georgia, more than 500 Publix employees volunteered with area non-profit organizations.

FOX 5 News caught up with a group of associates at Atlanta's Children's Shelter on Peachtree Street.

Some 45 volunteers worked on a number of projects around the facility.

Associates also worked at food pantries, clothes closets, elementary schools, and homeless shelters.

This marks the sixth year for the Publix Serves Day effort.
