Rapper Young Dro arrested at Georgia Southern University
STATESBORO, Ga. - The rapper known as ‘Young Dro’ was arrested at Georgia Southern University after authorities said he was caught with drugs and a gun on campus Sunday.
According to jail records, the Atlanta rapper, whose real name is D’Juan Hart, was one of four people arrested outside of the university’s Performing Arts Center, where he was scheduled to perform.
Hart is reportedly charged with carrying a weapon in a school safety zone, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon or first offender, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
University officials said Hart had been contracted to perform for the Statesboro Summer Jam, for which the school’s Performing Arts Center had been rented.
No bond has been set.
