A team of disaster response volunteers was deployed from Atlanta Red Cross Headquarters Monday afternoon to deliver supplies and damage assessment in hard-hit areas of Central Georgia, officials said.

Officials said dozens of homes were affected due to Sunday’s storms.

Fifteen people displaced because of the storms received a safe place to sleep, meals, and emotional support at a Red Cross shelter in Talbotton, Georgia.

Officials worry about the power outages as the cold weather sets in.

One Red Cross warming center and shelter in Grady County at the county’s AgriCenter located at 65 11th Ave. NE in Cairo, Georgia while another shelter is located in Talbot County at Central High School located at 95 N Washington Street.
