Registered sex offender charged with woman's murder

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A registered sex offender has been arrested for the murder of a woman in a DeKalb County parking lot.

Investigators said 34-year-old Hussan Chester was trying to re-register with Gwinnett County when they caught him.

Officers said Chester shot Erica Cruz in the head last Friday at the forest cove apartments.

Investigators have not released a motive.

They've charged him with felony murder.
