MARIETTA, Ga. - Big renovations are coming to Marietta’s West Park Square.
The city held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday afternoon to celebrate the start of an improvement project.
Developers said they are making the area more pedestrian friendly.
The plan includes adding more sidewalk space, taking out old trees, and planting new ones as well as bringing in new outdoor furniture.
Officials said they also want to improve transportation opportunities in the area.
City officials predict the project will be finished by the end of April.
