ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - As the nation celebrates the legacy of Rev. King, two Atlanta streets that were previously named for the Confederacy got new names.
What one was Confederate Avenue is now United Avenue and what was once Confederate Court is Trestletree Court.
The city council held an unveiling ceremony for both streets at the Trestle Beltline Entrance near the intersection of United Avenue and Trestletree Court Monday morning.
Many residents say they couldn't be happier.
As of Monday, both streets are officially renamed.
