Ribbon-cutting for renovated Midtown MARTA station

ATLANTA - MARTA wants to make art a bigger part of your commute.

MARTA officials and the Midtown Alliance held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated Midtown Station Monday morning.

Among the station's new enhancements, a custom mural, improved seating, and a platform for musicians to perform.

Developers said the idea is to make stations destinations in themselves.

The Midtown Station improvements are part of MARTA's Artbound program which launched in June of 2017.

The goal is to enhance the passenger experience through music, dance, and visual arts.
