Rockdale County deputy injured after crashing patrol car
MONROE, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A Rockdale County deputy was taken to the hospital after crashing his patrol car into a convenience store.
The accident happened Tuesday morning at Simms Gas For Less in Monroe. The Georgia State Patrol said Rockdale County Deputy Mike Ramsey was on Highway 10 in Monroe Tuesday morning when two dogs ran across the street.
Deputy Ramsey tried to avoid hitting them and instead hit some bushes, a street sign, a light pole, a store sign, and eventually slammed into the side of the gas station on West Spring Street.
Unfortunately, an employee inside the store at the time was hurt.

Medics took the deputy to Piedmont Walton Hospital with minor injuries.
GSP is continuing its investigation.
