Ryan Cameron is the voice of Atlanta's plane train

Radio personality Ryan Cameron is now the voice of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

ATLANTA - No matter where you go at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, there are plenty of sights and sounds to take in, but one of the voices you will hear throughout the airport belongs to a person you will never see.

"The next stop is for ‘A’ gates, ‘A’ as in alpha," the voice can be heard saying.

The voice is likely a familiar one. It belongs to Ryan Cameron, a renowned Atlanta radio host and TV personality.

"I don't think you can get any more Atlanta than being the voice of the world's busiest airport, the most efficient airport," Cameron said.

Cameron, who is from Atlanta, officially got the title as the voice of ATL last Thanksgiving, but this year his voiceover responsibilities grew.

"The first time I heard my voice was really from other people who heard me and then called me, and they said, ‘I felt like you were standing behind me’ and I was like, ‘that's funny,’" he said.

FOX 5 was there with Cameron as he added "Plane Train guy" to his resume. For Cameron, these new announcements are a decade-long dream that has now finally come true. 

"I was riding on the train one day and I was like Concourse ‘A’, ‘A’ as in apple," Cameron said. "The next thing you know, I put it on paper and submitted it."

With the new responsibility, you can now hear him at the TSA checkpoints, baggage claim and the plane train. He will help more than 100 million travelers, including himself, navigate the busy airport.

"When I was here, I was trying to get to a gate and I was at the wrong gate and I heard myself the whole entire time, go from gate to gate," Cameron said. "So, I got a little tired of myself because I was trying to catch that plane."

The airport hopes Cameron can be the calm amid the hectic holiday travel.

"It's kind of surreal to be not only involved in this and I got to say thank you to Mayor Andre Dickens and of course, to everybody here," Cameron said. "They believed in this vision that I came up with almost ten years ago and here we are."

A man with his mic reminding everyone, dreams do not have deadlines.
