The Sea Island Resort is paying out nearly $50,000 in back wages to more than 160 employees.

Authorities said Sea Island Acquisition LLC violated minimum wage, overtime, and record-keeping provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Some resort supervisors are accused of altering timecards which resulted in housekeeping employees not getting properly paid for the hours they worked.

Officials said the resort also failed to maintain proof of age for hundreds of minor employees.
