ALPHARETTA, Ga. - Alpharetta Police said someone in the metro Atlanta area is helping a fugitive convicted of murder.
A Fulton County jury convicted Shane Woods and another man of murdering Zachary Rose back in January of 2013.
In an unusual move, Woods, who was out on bond and dressed in street clothes, walked away from his murder trial at the Fulton County Courthouse last month.
Despite Woods absence, a jury convicted Woods of murder on February 15.
Alpharetta Police and the U.S. Marshals have been looking for the 25-year-old convict for a month, with no luck.
"There is a number of people that knows where he is as you and I speak, we need somebody to contact us, so he can be brought into custody before this thing turns bad," said George Gordon who is with the Alpharetta Police Department.
A judge sentenced Woods to life plus five years. Authorities are hoping to catch him soon so he can start that term.
