Searchers find body of fisherman missing off Georgia coast
BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) — Search crews have found the body of a coastal Georgia man five days after he went fishing in his boat and failed to return.
Capt. Bob Lynn of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources law enforcement division said the body of 63-year-old Charles Johnson was spotted Wednesday from a search helicopter off the coast of Brunswick. The body was found in marsh grasses not far from where searchers found Johnson's boat Saturday.
Lynn says family members identified Johnson's body. Johnson's wife reported him missing Saturday, two days before Tropical Storm Colin soaked the Georgia coast with rain.
The Coast Guard and state DNR were still searching Wednesday for 61-year-old Laura Hutchins. She and her husband went missing during a Saturday boating trip near Brunswick. Raymond Hutchins' body was found Tuesday.
