Another attempted abduction this week, this time in Paulding County. Detectives in Paulding County are comparing notes with their counterparts in Cobb County to see if they are related and if they can help each other solve the cases.

Investigators said Thursday around noon, a 17-year-old girl was walking in the Westward Ho neighborhood in Dallas when a man in a powder blue four-door sedan with tinted windows rolled up and asked her for directions. The teen said he grabbed her by the wrist and tried to pull her in the car. The girl was able to break free and run to a relative’s house nearby. The family got the sheriff’s office involved then started warning neighbors.

“You could see she was pretty shaken up,” said neighbor Tracey Osborne. “She just gave me the description and I asked her a few questions so I could get some more information and I immediately got on Facebook."

Osborne said she got on a group page in her community to warn other parents in her area. The victim describes the man as in his 30s, white with tan skin, dark hair, blue eyes, with a mark beneath one of his eyes. He was driving a 4-door powder blue sedan with tinted windows. Deputies canvased the area immediately looking for this man.

Detectives said they have gotten the Georgia Bureau of Investigation involved. Agents said they will be working to get a forensic sketch artist on the case this weekend or early next week.

"Just because they're looking doesn't mean that they have him you know so he could still be out there,” said Osborne. “No, I would imagine the chances are probably slim that he could come back into this neighborhood and try it again but you never know."

Osborne said, for now, her two young girls will have less freedom when it comes to playing and walking around outside.
