Sheriff: Covington woman charged in mother's murder
NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Deputies have arrested a Covington woman and charged her in the death of her mother.
According to the Newton County Sheriff's Office, on Sunday deputies were called to a home on the 300 block of Alcovy Way after reports of a "penetrating trauma."
When they got to the home, deputies found 57-year-old Andrea Walker dead in a bedroom.
During an investigation, deputies took the victim's daughter, 34-year-old Carly Walden, into custody without incident. She has been charged with felony murder and felony possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Authorities are working to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
They have not yet identified a motive in the crime.
