Sheriff: Man shot at Cartersville apartment building

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - The Bartow County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that sent one man to the hospital.

According to deputies, the shooting happened at the Somerset Club Apartments off of Highway 20 Spur in Cartersville.

The sheriff told FOX 5 deputies were called out at about 6:15 a.m. after several residents heard gunfire and a car crashing into the exit gate.

The victim's condition is unknown.

SKYFOX 5 flew over the apartments are saw workers fixing the damage at the gate.

Deputies are now interviewing witnesses and recovering evidence.
