CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. - Three people died in a single-vehicle crash in Cherokee County early Tuesday morning.
The accident happened on Interstate 75 northbound near Woodstock Road. Investigators said an SUV veered off the road, went down an embankment, struck a tree and caught fire. The fire then caused a small brush fire.
Three people were found dead at the scene. No word yet on the victims' identities, but investigators said they appear to be adult-aged.
Deputies said it's not yet clear whether the victims died as a result of the crash or as a result of the fire.
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said they are working to determine what caused the crash.
