ATHENS, Ga. - A small plane made an emergency landing near a roadway in Athens Tuesday afternoon, according to the FAA.
A statement from the FAA said the Beechcraft Bonanza BE35 aircraft landed off Milledge Avenue around 2:39 p.m. No injuries were reported.
The flight had departed from Athens-Ben Epp Airport and was en route to the Barrow County Airport in Winder when the pilot reported engine problems, the statement said.
University of Georgia officials confirmed in a statement that plane the landed safely near their livestock arena on South Miledge Avenue and that no property was damaged.
The Athens-Clarke County Fire and Emergency Services posted images of the scene on Facebook and said traffic is starting to build in the area.
The FAA is handling the investigation.
