Shooting at South Cobb High School

Cobb County Schools confirmed police are investigating a shooting that took place at South Cobb High School Saturday night.

Cobb County police say a 14-year-old opened fire Saturday night at a South Cobb High School football game.

Police confirmed there was one victim who sustained a "non-life-threatening injury" and is expected to make a full recovery. That victim has not been identified.

Police later detained a male teenager. He has been charged with multiple offenses, including aggravated assault, reckless conduct, minor in possession of a firearm, criminal trespass and violation of probation.

It was not made clear whether the juvenile was a student at the school.

On Saturday night, the school district said the shooting happened at a community event, and not a school-sanctioned one. The police have said it was football game. 

This is an ongoing investigation.
