South Fulton announces new top cop

The City of South Fulton has a new police chief. The city announced Tuesday Keith Meadows was the new top cop.

Meadows had been the head of the College Park Police Department for the past three years. Before that, he had a 30-year career with the Atlanta Police Department where he served in as a school detective, zone commander, and worked in major crimes.

“The Council is unified with this decision resulting from the national search. We are confident in Meadows’ leadership and look forward to the City of South Fulton’s Police Department and community working together to make our great city South Fulton Strong,” Mayor William “Bill” Edwards was quoted as saying in a release to FOX 5 News.

The city cited his close work with faith-based leaders in his previous communities as a show of his dedication. Meadows has been decorated and recognized by several organizations in and out of law enforcement.

Meadows received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Leo University and his Masters of Science in Justice Administrations from Columbus State University.
