Students, parents upset over lack of heat in dorms at Morehouse College
ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Several students at Morehouse College said they've gone a week without working heat in their dorm rooms.
The student and their parents said the problem has been happening inside the freshman dorm, Hubert Hall, on campus.
FOX 5 News spoke with several students Friday.
Corwaun Clark said the cold room is making him sick. His friend, Christopher Jackson, said the same thing.
"We are trying to get an education. We paid a lot of money for this but this is affecting our health. So, is it really worth it?" Jackson asked.
FOX 5's Marissa Mitchell made several attempts Friday to speak with school officials about the issue and is awaiting a response.
However, Mitchell obtained a letter from administrators sent to parents, addressing the problem. School leaders said the electrical system in the building is being upgraded to support a renovation made in August. And due to the upgrade, the infrastructure repair has affected 21 rooms on the second floor of Hubert Hall. Students have been given portable heaters until the repair is complete.
