Fort Worth police are on the hunt for a man who climbed into a woman's apartment through an open window and attacked her.
The woman’s home surveillance cameras caught some good images of his face and now detectives are investigating whether the man is responsible for other similar attacks in north Fort Worth.
Fort Worth police believe it started with the incident caught on video about 5 a.m. Saturday. The suspect is peeping at a woman through an open window as she slept on the couch. Police say he went in through the window and covered the woman's mouth and tried to choke her.
"The male told the female to take her clothes off in the video she tries to comply with him when she notices there is an open window,” said FWPD Sgt. Marc Povero.
The video shows the woman trying to escape through the window, but the man grabs her leg and drags her back in. She then screams and he runs out the front door. The incident occurred just before 5 a.m. Saturday.
The woman said police have asked her not to discuss her case -- but a second victim is talking.
"I saw something out of the corner of my eye realized there's somebody coming in the garage he grabbed me yanked me back,” the second woman said.
The second woman was attacked at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, just a few miles away from the first break in. She has watched the surveillance tape from the first attack.
"I watched the video a few times just thinking someone trying to violate me like that made me sick to my stomach,” she said.
Police said in both cases the women were roughed up pretty badly but they were not physically harmed. But the emotional scares will always be there.
"I'm scared and I don't want to be scared at home with my kids,” the second woman said. "I always felt safe now I don't want to be here anymore that does anger me one person can make you feel unsafe.”
