Suspect in custody for Cobb County shooting

The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office has in custody a murder suspect in the shooting death of 30-year-old Shawn Moore.

The crime occurred at the Cumberland Lodge in Smyrna on the afternoon of November 27. The Cobb County Police department developed information that lead to the issuance of a murder/aggravated assault warrant for 33 year old Troy Lann of Marietta. Authorities had been unable to locate Lann and believed he had fled the area.

On the evening of November 29 the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office Fuguitive Squad and the United States Marshals Southeast Fugitive Task Force began working to locate Lann. Through the development of leads and surveillance operations it was determined that Lann was hiding at his mother’s home in Chester County South Carolina.

Investigators were able capture Lann without incident on Friday, December 2. He later signed an extradition waiver and was immediately returned to Cobb County to face charges. He is in custody at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center.
