WINDER, Ga. - Authorities in Barrow County are crediting a vigilant resident with helping to lead to the arrest of a man in connection with multiple burglaries.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence at 2325 Atlanta Highway SE on Tuesday after a neighbor reported seeing an unidentified man enter the home and exit through a side window.
According to the Barrow County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrived quickly and deployed a K-9 unit to track the man. The trail led deputies to a nearby residence where items believed to be stolen were found outside.
Daniel Arellano-Mata, 28, of Winder, was charged with one count of burglary, with additional charges pending as the investigation continues.
Deputies say a search of Arellano-Mata's home uncovered evidence connecting him to four additional burglaries in Barrow County and the Statham area.
He was booked into the Barrow County Detention Center.
