A high-speed chase early Friday morning left a DUI suspect with minor injuries.

Georgia State Patrol troopers told FOX 5 they tried to pull over a Honda CRV on Interstate 85 north near Georgia 400 and when the driver wouldn't stop, the trooper performed a pit maneuver. The Honda spun but kept going.

The driver exited at North Druid Hills and headed east toward Decatur. The trooper followed and after they passed Briarcliff Road the trooper decided to "PIT" the SUV again, but the Honda ended up ramming the troopers car, made a u-turn and headed back toward the interstate.

As the Honda got on the northbound entrance ramp, the driver lost control and hit the guard rail. This allowed the trooper to pin him in. The Honda driver jumped out and tried to run away, according to investigators, but the trooper caught him on the ramp.

The trooper wasn't hurt.

The Honda driver got a busted lip. Paramedics treated him at the scene. He now faces DUI, fleeing and possibly drug charges, because troopers said they found narcotics in the SUV.
